In this haven of peace, owned by the Conseil Général (local authorities), you will find the Sept Îles nature reserve building, which houses a permanent exhibition and the bird care centre of the ornithological station of the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux (LPO), the national organisation for the protection of birds. At Castel Erek, a protected natural site, there is a panoramic view over one of the largest of the old granite quarry sites. Between 1860 and 1910, 800 tonnes of blue and white granite were extracted here every month. You can then continue your walk to Île Canton where you will find some remarkable medieval crosses.
